Kelli discovered her passion for dog training after adopting her first dog, Rascal, from the Wisconsin Humane Society in August 2010. After bringing him home, she quickly realized that Rascal had significant behavioral issues. Knowing that she needed help to bring out the best in Rascal, she went on a search for a trainer who could help. Unknowingly, that search turned into a journey where Kelli discovered a true passion for how dogs learn and how to bring out the best in all of them.
Kelli began attending seminars, reading books and taking online and in-person classes to learn as much about dog training and behavior as she possibly could. This also led to her other favorite pastime, dog agility. Fast forward to the present, and now Kelli has four dogs: Rascal, Tig, River and Kane. Her three eldest dogs (Rascal, Tig and River) are all AKC Canine Good Citizens and the youngest one is currently in training. River, her current partner in agility, has multiple titles in agility as well as her AKC Trick Dog Performer title. Kane, her youngest dog, is developing solid life skills and having a blast learning new things.
Kelli has always dreamed of sharing her passion and knowledge for dog training with others. Her goal is to help owners have a deep relationship with their dogs, based on positive reinforcement and effective communication. In addition, she is eager to show them how much fun training can be for both ends of the leash. In her classes, you will learn how she uses rewards to communicate what the desired behavior is, how to determine what each specific dog finds rewarding and using it effectively. Join her in her class and have a fun and rewarding time with your dog.
