Mindy Mymudes is a second-generation English Springer Spaniel breeder, owner and handler. One of her best memories was her father taking high in trial at the old Chicago Stockyard shows in the late 60’s out of Novice A. She thought that was so cool and got her first rescue springer in the early ‘90’s. Strange Quark UD TD NAJ OA was a four-week-old pup when she found the litter. That dog made her go to classes, as walking on the ceiling was not tolerable.

He taught her a lot about training, or at least how a dog can train a human. Needless to say, she did not get a HIT out of Novice A. He did get her a dumbbell, though. She also received a springer pup from someone who enjoyed her stories of the dog, and that pup became her foundation bitch, CH U-CDX Tribute's Three X The Charm VCD3 UDX RAE JH WD VS. She was Mindy's first experience with private trainers and learning to train a dog fairly and precisely. A liver-tricolor springer, she loved to do anything if Mindy was part of it.

Her son was Mindy's group-winning A/C UCD CH Muddy Paws Tri The Truth VCD2 UDX RN AX AXJ OAP OJP, and his half-sister, out of a English import was OTCH Muddy Paws Beautiful Trinket VCD3 UDX2 RAE JH NAP NJP NFP NW1, the only dog Mindy knew that generalized. She led Mindy on a trip that didn’t stop until the day she passed at 14 years. Her daughter was the sweetest dog most had ever met, but after an attack she shut down at trials, so Mindy lent her to Jennifer Smith to finish her MACh. They started in Scentwork late in her life and she earned her last title at 13.5 years, passing away shortly after.

Now Mindy has Muddy Paws Three X The Charisma (Mandy) VCD2 UD BN RM RAE MX MXB MXJ MJB OF CAX FCAT SWE SCM SHDN RATM CGC TKA ATT NW1 and her son, Muddy Paws Next Chapter CD RI AX AXJ CAA FCAT ACT2 SWE SCM SBM SHDN RATS DSA DJ CGC TKI ATT NW2. After becoming disabled and unable to trial all day in obedience, Mindy started working with whippets. After she put a series of titles on whippets she doesn't live with, including a CD, she was given her own, Wylie's Charleston With Muddy Paws RN SWN RATN TKN. Charli continues to expand Mindy's toolbox. These dogs teach her so much, as she learns new skills and then shares with her students. Mindy is happiest coaching students, sharing all the skills she's learned from her instructors and celebrating their wins or learning a new exercise. Mindy is an AKC Rally judge, one of the first, and was involved in bringing the first rally trial to Wisconsin on the first day it was offered.

Now Mandy and Mindy are working towards their RACh and Mindy continues to work with many of her other dogs at various levels of rally, obedience, scentwork, nosework, FCAT, CAT, dock diving, whippet racing and barn hunt. They might even get to do some tracking again!
